Ohh thanks for recipes. I always try a new sugar cookie recipe every year mostly because I never find any I love. Now if I could just find meringue powder... I have looked for it in the past to no avail!
Christina - if you have a Michael's nearby, meringue powder will be in the cake decorating area.
Nice!!!! I only make cookies where there is a reason, like a bake sale, so I don't have a million cookies trapped in the house with me. It would be a massacre!

your cookies look awesome! i used that same allrecipes recipe for my cookies last year, and they were great. but, my icing last year was a disaster so i'm going to try your recipe for royal icing. was it hard to find meringue powder?
