In Search of Snow

It’s February and I have not yet pulled out a shovel, tobogganed down a hill, nor built a lopsided snow family.

It’s February and I have yet to watch the Storm Watch ticker on the morning news to see if the schools are closed, wear my pyjamas inside out , or enjoy an unscheduled day off.

It’s February, and although the air is bitterly cold, the ground is brown and dry.

It’s February and I want to hunker down under a blanket, bake cookies for my awesome neighbour with the snow blower, and put my snow tires to the test.

It’s February and I WANT SNOW!

Um...come OVER HERE.

We've got plenty to go around. And around. And around. It needs to start melting a bit; the backyard snow is crusty and frozen and the trails I made for Shorty are nothing short of an ankle accident waiting to happen.

It hasn't snowed here since before Christmas. But apparently that's typical for Denver. Lots of snow in November, March, and April, and not much from December-February.

For me, it's February and I want SUMMER. I hate being cold and in winter I can never seem to get my fingers, toes or nose warm. I can't wait until the weather warms up!

And here I want a HEAT WAVE! Jan-Feb is the coldest time here, temps at freezing, and it is still TOO COLD for me.

Not me! I want SPRING! Green grass, flower buds, birdies chirping...bring it on!

See, I have been hankering for spring. And we don't even get snow, like EVER.

Oh, honey. Come take some of ours!

I'm in Poland, and as of last week, Warsaw broke its record for the most consecutive days of snow. Apparently that record was from 1890 or something; so this winter has really gone on and on. And on.

I'm pretty tired of it. I long for a bit of green. So you want snow? Hop on a plane and I'll meet you at the airport. I'll even spring for the post-sledding hot chocolate! ;)

We have snow up here but no where near as much as Washington got. It does feel strange having such a warm Feb. I always get scared when the weather is good in the winter. I worry that spring will be nasty or summer will be cold... I hope I am wrong.
