Superheroes!

We hosted Bart's first " friends" birthday party with a Superheroes theme. Fastest two hours of my life.

The gang getting their Superhero names. You can see Maggie waiting very patiently.

Finally named. She was Super Macro and her super power was that she could make everything big.

Bart blowing out the candles on his Superman cake.

A better look at the cake, because I even impressed myself with this one!

A little better look at the capes. I made 13 custom capes for the kids.

They made their own masks and power bracelets (I cut out the shapes and they applied glitter and star stickers).

The big difference between girl toys and boy toys: girl toys are made in pastel colours and have millions of itty bitty parts. Boy toys are made in primary colours and make a lot of noise.

Maybe custom making costumes is the way to get children to a birthday party...hmmm.

That is so cool!! I love the cake! The capes!!! And I always love a good Maggie photo--I think it's because she reminds me of the spitfire that is Lucy.

That is such a great party idea. I showed the pics to my 4 year old son and he loves them, but he still wants a SpongeBob party. Maybe next year.

Happy Birthday! What a fun party - I kind of want a grown up one. Hmm...

You did a great job making those capes and the cake. That must have taken a lot of time. I am sure Bart will remember this as one of his favorites for years to come!

ALL AWESOME.

(And I love Maggie's pose in that first pic.)

You deserve one of these: a superhero necklace.

Can I come to the next party and be Super Micro so I can make my thighs smaller?

I'm completely awed by the work you put into this party. Your kids are SUPER lucky to have such a great mom!

Wow. I LOVE the capes! I am so totally impressed.

I linked to you from Semi-Desperate Housewife. I love your blog. It is so reassurring to me (and awe-inspiring) to see a working mom with THREE kids, and you seem like you have a handle on everything. I will definitely be coming back.
